"C'mon, bro! We're gonna miss it if we don't hurry!" A small, red fox kit shouted to an older, black and gray fox as he ran out the front door of their house. The red fox's name was Tutis, and he was excited because for the first time in centuries, there was to be a major meteor shower...tonight. Having never seen one, Tutis was ecstatic. His brother Shadz however, wasn't as enthusiastic. "Alright, bro. I'm coming, I'm coming.." Shadz groaned as Tutis gripped his wrist and drug him outside. "Hurry up, bro! This only happens once every 500 years! You don't wanna have to wait for the next one, do ya?" Shadz just rolled his eyes, knowing that would be impossible.

Once outside their home, Tutis ran over to a large patch of grass and sprawled out, stretching his arms and legs in all directions. Shadz simply walked over to a nearby tree and leaned against it, placing his hands behind his head. "Big bro, can't you get excited about something this once?" Tutis said, slightly saddened. Shadz closed his eyes and sighed. "Sorry, bro. But there isn't much to get excited about these days." Tutis frowned at his brother's sorrowful attitude as of late. Shadz always seemed down about stuff, and Tutis could feel their bond weakening every day. The little fox just wanted everything to be how it was before.

"Shadz, I miss how things used to be. We used to play all the time and have fun. Now it seems like we hardly even talk anymore. I miss the old days..." Shadz' ears twitched in an annoyed manner and he sighed. "I'm sorry bro, but I think those days are gone..." The black fox began to walk back into the house, ignoring the cries of his little brother. "But they don't have to be gone..." Tutis whispered as tears rolled down his furry cheeks. He missed the time he and his adoptive older brother used to spend together when he was little. The young fos curled up into a ball and sniffled as he thought back to when he knew his big bro still cared.

Just as Tutis had begun to fall asleep, he noticed an object streak across the sky. "Hey, it's starting! ...and big bro isn't here to see it..." The fox stood up and watched as the meteor shower Began, and lasted only about 30 seconds. "Oh, well...would've been better if Shadz was watching it with me." Tutis sighed and started back towards the house when one final meteor shot across the sky. He didn't know how to explain it, but Tutis felt like maybe this meteor was special. He remembered being told that if you make a wish on a shooting star, that it would come true, so he closed his eyes, cupped his hands together, and whispered to himself....

"I wish for things to be the way they used to be. The way they were for me and Shadz when I was little..." After the meteor had vanished from sight, Tutis sighed and walked into the house. "It's not gonna happen, anyway." As he started up the stairs, Tutis couldn't shake the feeling that something was different. For starters, his bandana that he wore was loose and drooping over his eyes, but he always kept it tied tight. He didn't think too much of it as he made it up the stairs and into his room. Once near his bed, he thought it looked....bigger than before. He had to climb up into it, but he just shrugged it off, figuring that he was just tired. He turned off the light and covered himself up, quickly falling asleep.

****The next morning****

Shadz woke up and made his way to Tutis' room to wake him up. When walked into the kit's room, it looked as though no one was in the bed. Shadz moved closer and finally noticed his brother's head resting on the pillow. "C'mon, bro. Time to wake up." He shook the fox's shoulders gently, causing him to groan in his sleep. Shadz pulled the covers back, but what he saw shocked him. Laying in the bed was indeed his little brother, but only about half the size as normal. "Bro? Hey, what happened to you?" Tutis finally woke up and looked up at Shadz. "Hi, big bro. Sumfing wong?" He said sticking his thumb in his mouth.

"Uhh, yeah. I would say so. Have a look." Shadz said as he pointed to the mirror on the back of Tutis' door. The kit hopped out of bed and padded over to the mirror, seeing himself and gasped. "Wha!? I'm...widdle!" Neither fox could believe what they were seeing. Shadz was concerned, but Tutis was happy. "It came twue! My wish came twue!" Shadz regained his composure and asked "Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. What wish?" Tutis looked at him and smiled. "I wished wast night dat tings would be da way dey were when I was widdle! And it came twue!" Shadz instantly knew what Tutis meant by that. He hated to admit it, but he knew in his heart that he had slowly been pushing his brother away.

"Tutis, I know I've been pushing you away, and I'm sorry, but I never wanted anything like this to happen." Shadz picked up his little brother and held him close. "I promise we're going to be closer from now on, and I'll always be there for you." Tutis looked up and saw small tears forming in the corners of Shadz' eyes. The kit lifted his small hand and wiped the tears away. "No tears, big bwo. We'll be o-tay." Shadz smiled softly and held the little fox closer. "You're right, little guy. But first, we need to get you back to normal..."
